A nice lodge located on the shores of Lake Creek. About an hour float plane ride from Anchorage. The lodge sits right on the creek. Lake Creek is a beautiful clear water stream and is full of Salmon, Rainbows and Grayling. We were there in time for the Silver run. Unfortunately it was the summer of record temperatures and the Creek was very low and very warm. The Silvers would hold up in sloughs in great number. We caught plenty of fish, but standing around casting into a hundred fish holding in a slough in not my idea of Alaska fly fishing. We fly fished for Rainbows and Grayling with some success. I hooked a King on my 5WT while fishing
egg patterns for the Rainbows behind the spawners. There was no budging that King with my 5 WT, so I had to break it off. Waters were Lake Creek join the Susitna were pretty crowded with Tackle fisherman, but they did not seem to run up the creek so it was quiet upstream. A quality fly fishing operation that I would go back to if the weather was cooler.
