Tarpon Cay Lodge

Guide: Ramon
Favorite Memory: Got to experience some local flavor by going to a cock fight.

Great spot for Baby Tarpon! One of the few places that they hang out on sandy flats. The Lodge is a four story hotel right on the water. Comfortable rooms, great service and good food make this one of my favorite destinations. The fishing program is tidal dependent. We fished the hours around dawn and dusk. That made for a nice relaxing afternoon to see the sights. The hotel manger was great in taking me around the area. When the fish were not on the flats we hunted them on and around the mangroves. During the tide changes we would stake out on the channels the Tarpon used to get back and forth. This made for consistent action throughout the fish day.

Great spot for beginning salt water anglers. The fish are willing, but you still have to be able to make the cast.
