Spent a few days in Placencia for the wedding at Chabil Mar. Chabil is a great resort with a very friendly staff. My wife and I took a day to explore the Flats. Our guide, Benji new the water like the back of his hand. In the morning we fished the Bay and had shots at some Big Permit. They did not eat. They were a little spooky due to the falling tide.
The afternoon was spent island hopping. Really cool way to fish. We would anchor off the island and then wade around it. My wife would look inside and catch bones while I waded deeper looking for cruising Permit. I had some good shots, but they just kept swimming.
The whole day was filled with action and we saw lots of fish and a Manatee. Can't wait to get back down there and spend more time.
The town is very laid back. It has not been overdeveloped yet so it is filled with local businesses. Very good restaurants, beach bars and nice people.
