Lodge: Alagnak River Lodge

One morning I caught 63 Chums on Pink CH String Leeches and Sandy Agitators

A great fly fishing salmon lodge in the Bristol Bay area. The lodge is located on the banks of the famous Alagnak river about a 20 minute float plane ride from King Salmon. You can fly to King Salmon from Anchorage on commercial airlines and spend the night for an early morning arrival at the lodge. The Lodge is one building, which is nice since you do not have to go outside for showers or the use the bathroom. Alagnak specializes in fly fishing for salmon and you do not have to go far to find them. We fished in sight of the lodge a few days and ran up river for 10 or 15 minutes other days. The lodge is close to the mouth of the river so you get fresh salmon on every tidal surge. One morning I caught 63 Chums. We did a fly out to a nice little river. Caught Dollies and Rainbows on egg patterns all day behind spawning Sockeye. Had a Griz walk behind us while were having lunch. It was as close as I ever need to get. .
